Bestselling author Devon Hartford brings you another scorching hot and scandalous standalone romance.
SOME SECRETS ARE TOO HARD TO KEEP
The night the EMTs rolled Lion Maxwell into my ER turned my life upside down.
Although he was bloody and battered from defending his title as the WMAA’s reigning cruiserweight champion, his cocky grin lit up the room.
And every cell in my body.
Our fiery chemistry was off the charts.
The ER staff sensed it.
Lion’s entourage and his drooling groupies sensed it too.
If the two of us had been alone, I might have done something entirely unprofessional and completely unethical right there in the exam room. But I was his attending physician. A sexual or romantic relationship with him was grounds for my termination or worse, revoking my medical license. I wouldn’t risk my career on a moment of passion. It didn’t stop that arrogant caveman from doing everything he could to get me into his hospital bed.
After denying his advances for weeks, the last thing I expected were the wild nights he would be spending in my bed.
It was supposed to be nothing more than a secret fling.
I knew it couldn’t last.
He was still my patient.
What we were doing was wrong.
If anyone found out, it could ruin my life.
But we couldn’t let go.
We were bound to each other on some primal level that consumed us.
Sometimes love is tragic.
Sometimes two people aren’t meant to be together.
But sometimes, two people overcome all adversity and build a love that lasts forever.
I knew deep in my heart that Lion Maxwell could be my happily ever after.
As long as we kept our love a secret.
I wish I’d known that some secrets are too hard to keep…

Hello my lovelies, I sincerely hope you all are doing well, adjusting to a more clean and safe lifestyle. I extend my apologies and sympathy to those that are suffering through this coronavirus disease and have or are losing loved ones. I thank those, that have and are standing up for the lives of all, including black lives, that are thought of as less than, for whatever differences seem to be the demon of the day. We all matter. We all have something to add to this world. We all have a purpose, no matter what belief you resign to. That person standing next to you may be a crucial part in a major change in our lives that one day eradicates cancer, or gets us out into the galaxy, or finds a way to preserve this planet's wildlife or water supplies. We have to stop allowing our baser self to lead us in disgusting acts of hatred and aggression that literally and figuratively stamp the light out of others. I often wonder what would happen if there was no crime of any sort for 30 da
This is my unsolicited review of Fragile Boundaries: A Flash Fiction Short Story Collection by author RE Vaughn It's been a while since I've read a short story collection, which when I do, I usually enjoy. This collection, while clearly well thought out, was a wierd menagerie of bite size snippets of shitty life moments that felt like a bit too much realism. I even stopped after the second story to google flash fiction to make sure I understood what it was. Fragile Boundaries has a good mixture of different genres. The stories give you a very narrow glimpse of a character's life in which an action has happened or is going to happen that guides the story and how they respond. Its mostly things that could have happened to any of us. But, the author has somehow trapped you while reading. In each story you are in there with each character, feeling their very well written and developed thoughts and actions. Whether you want to be in there or not. Some of the stories feel
