The Story of Us by author  D. Nichole King Publication date: February 9th 2017 Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance Moments. Some are yellow and happy, some are blue and sad, and some… Some wipe out color altogether. “I love you,” is what I should have told Maverick. “I’m sorry.” “I’m still fighting.” Instead I just watched him leave. Now my husband, my everything is battling for each breath, and all I can do is stare at the machines as the clock ticks off precious minutes. The doctors said the first twenty-four hours are critical—but every moment is critical. You never know which will be your last. This is our story, and I’m not ready for it to end. Goodreads / Amazon EXCERPT: I’m in the front seat of the police car. My purse is on my lap. I didn’t bring anything else. I didn’t even change my clothes. We’ve been driving for ten minutes, I think. I’m not

Loving Black Men: An Anthology Be a part of the movement Violence against black men in America is increasing, in their own neighborhoods and at the hands of law enforcement. The injuries and fatalities have become so common that many are becoming desensitized to the continuous news and images of brutality. The proof is in the commentary on news outlets and social media. Many expect nothing to be done, because so often nothing is done. Thus, the Loving Black Men project. The authors who contributed to this project wanted to do more than share their opinions on social media. They have come together to illustrate with words the value of human life, especially that of males of color. With their narratives these authors have declared war against ignorance that breeds intolerance, and fear, and racism. This is their weapon to counteract the hate speech mongers, the politicians and the commentators posing as news broadcasters. Through their stories and poetry they fight wieldi

Cry Wolf by author Nikki Winter get it today "I need to be away from you. You need to be away from me. You'll thank me for this someday; I promise you that." For fourteen years Iman Gautier had recited his parting words to Neema White like a lullaby parents sung to their children. Never releasing the hope that they weren't the sole thing she remembered of him. Of them. Yet, when you were literally created for a purpose shaped by the beguiling hands of Lucifer himself, hope was fickle. Cursed with a congenial link to rougarou--a stronger form of lyncanthrope that once served at the devil's feet--Iman was forced to accept that his beast carried the weight of urges that couldn't be contained with the simplistic things that pleased his evolved pack. A contract with one of hell's many hands saw to the removal of his bond with the underworld, leaving him unrestrained to return to all that he'd left behind in his search for freedom from his

There are many who write in the urban genre but it is exceptional to find those who have taken up the mantle in other genres such as science fiction, fantasy, supernatural and paranormal. I hope in this brief celebratory period of authors and the books they write that you will fall in love with them and their books as well. Breaking down barriers and stereotypes, these pioneers should be celebrated. No longer is it true that Blacks don't read. We not only read but write in spectacular fashion. Until I broke the wrong ones… *** Jackson Reed knew the only thing harder than his head was the insatiable one between his legs. Sandwiched somewhere between following the law and his own instincts, he made up his own rules in the game of “private investigations”: his sacred version of the Holy Trinity. Sex. Career. And more sex. He towed the delicate line between the “three” until Penelope Castalano—a former flame he equated to the plague—re-enters his life…and obliterates it. Fresh from Paris, his best friend’s attorney breaks the only deal they’ve ever made, sauntering back onto the Manhattan scene at a costume party with more to hide than just her face. And now one fugitive best friend and two broken promises will ignite a new Holy Trinity in Jackson’s hazardous life. Caught in the midst of a gov
