Plans and Goals for 2022

IT'S 2022, Yall!

Usually, This post would have been done in early January, but I was busy like so many others. I was also trying to decide if I wanted to start this blog again. The answer? We'll see.
I would like to get back into promoting independent authors.

After publishing two of my own books under my pen name, and more coming, I found myself dealing with freelancers in other countries and timezones. I wondered why there weren't more freelancers offering services right here in the US. at affordable pricing. However, I did spend quite a bit on marketing and have yet to see any return. But the books are out there for the world to see. I will not focus on them anymore and continue writing the books I started. Maybe I will look up and be pleasantly surprised that I have made some sales one day.

I miss hyping up new authors. From my own experience, it can be tough to build up an audience. I found that I had a fair amount of reads when I offered my books for free, but I was practicing to eventually sell my books. Both books are available on Amazon and free on Kindle Unlimited.

I have spent a lot of time reading Alien, Monster, and Sci-Fi romance. I absolutely love the depth of singular devotion in the different alien series. They all have other names they call the fated Mate phenomenon. A lot of the stories have their own version of swear words. Some of the authors provide a helpful glossary.  I must admit, I am hooked for now. There is a vast abundance of it on the market, and many of them are self-published.
Some of my favorite authors to read in this genre are:
Luna Kingsley
Ursa Dax
Kimberly Lemming
Elizabeth Stephens
Honey Phillips
Presley Hall
C.M. Nascosta
Rena Marks
Ruby Dixon
Tiffany Roberts
Clio Evans
Krista Luna
Lynnea Lee
S.J. Sanders
Ann Aguirre
Y.D. La Mar
Tammy Walsh
Madison Savage

I saw a post a while back saying to try reading a genre you don't usually read, and that's how I got into these books. First, it was the aliens, and then another post that shares all of the Triggers and Warnings helped me find out there were monster books out there. Monster. Books! They were so good, so steamy and fun. I still have a crush on Rourke from Cambric Creek. There was just something about the way author  C.M. Nascosta wrote him that was highly enticing. (You can find him in Morning Glory Milking Farm.) one of my favorite parts is the dry heaving thing he did. I laughed myself silly because it's such a human thing to do, and I have experienced it before. But with well over 7300 reviews, this is an author who truly knows what people want to read.

I am glad that I came across Elizabeth Stephens on tik tok and now have a woman of color writing POC alien stories I want to read.

But that's just what I have been reading when I am not writing. You can follow my blog and social media about my writing journey and read some of my books by searching for Venis Nytes. I am on FB, Twitter, tik tok, IG, Amazon, and Goodreads.

What do you think? Should I get back to doing Writer Spotlights, book blitzes and promote upcoming fiction books written by independent authors for NA, Adult, and Erotic readers?

Books must be fiction, and, for now, you must be self-published. I will choose a few to post once or twice a week until I build up my following again. So sorry I left my loyal followers hanging for so long but becoming a full-time caregiver took over my life, and I had no time for anyone or anything for the past 5 years. But I am back now, trying to figure out enough freelance stuff to pay the bills while helping struggling writers and authors get some extra eyes on their writing. I am not taking any book review requests because I enjoy reading what I want.
