Jurassic World Roars
Jurassic World is taking the box offices by storm, raking in a cool 206 Million before the weekend was over. The ever-classic Dinosaurs are running around like they own the place theme is a cool and scary idea. The fact that they evolve to higher intelligence, well that has got us all pulling out the credit cards and loading up the cars to head to the movies. I unfortunately have not seen the newest movie yet. To the imaginative, books will always be better than the movie adaption. Primarily because we miss so much visually. The sound of the stomping and roaring in the distance, the water in the giant dinosaur print rippling foretells of doom. But the actual environment, the time of day, the heat rising, all of the micro descriptives that are put into the movies sometimes get lost. Adding the uber talented Steven Spielberg to direct this series, to try to capture as much of this as possible, well it was certainly not going to fail. This franchise series is definitely entertaining and entertaining emough to keep people going back to the theaters since the movies premiered and before Jeff Goldblum started greying....Must go Faster!
The man behind the movies
Michael Crichton's title as an author is not necessarily fitting as he also created shows like ER, I believe he also helped to write the movie Twister and did some directing on an adaption of one of his novels called The Great Train Robbery. Some may even call him the accidental writer as he dabbled in several genre's trying to figure out what he wanted to write. Thank goodness he did dabble and dabble well, because look at the legacy of books, movies and scripts that are left for future generations to garner fresh ideas and adaptions from. Crichton studied at Harvard Medical School, I guess with the thoughts of having a conventional career but his love of reading and storytelling would not be silenced. He was after all the son of a journalist. Michael Crichton passed in 2008.
